Admissions Policy

Enrollment is open to all children without regard to sex, race, color, creed, or national origin. 
All children need to be:

  1. Between the ages of eighteen months and six years 

  2. Physically, emotionally, and socially developed to the extent that he/she is not a hazard to himself or herself and does not endanger the well-being of other children in the school

  3. Ready for the type of group and program offered and be able to benefit from the program 

Children with special needs, such as the emotionally or physically challenged, will be accepted if it is determined that they will benefit from the program and the staff is able to meet their needs in addition to the needs of the other children. (Please arrange for a consultation with the Director prior to registering your child.)

Admissions Process

1. Schedule a Campus Tour

Schedule a tour of our campus to learn about our programs and to see the school day in action. Tours are generally offered twice weekly during the morning academic period so that you have an opportunity to observe both the children and the teachers engaged in the daily routine.

2. Enter your information on the Online Waiting List

Access the Online Waiting List and enter the requested information, selecting the program or programs appropriate for your family so that we may notify you when there is an opening for one of the programs that you are interested in. 

3. Submit your completed Application

When a space becomes available for your child, secure your spot by submitting a completed Application for Enrollment and paying your first month's tuition and non-refundable registration fee. At this time we will provide you with an enrollment packet that will need to be completed and returned, along with a copy of your child's immunization record, prior to your child's first day of school.

4. Schedule Classroom Visits

Once enrolled, we will schedule your child to visit his or her classroom on at least two occasions the week before your child's start date so that you and your child have an opportunity to meet your child's teacher and become acquainted with the school before your child's first day.

5. Submit your completed Student Enrollment Packet

A completed student enrollment packet and a copy of your child's immunization records are required prior to the child's first day of school. These should be returned during your first classroom visit so that we have the opportunity to review them and ask for any missing or additional information before your child starts attending.

 

Preparing Your Child For School

Children attending school for the first time are bound to be apprehensive the first couple of weeks. There are things that you can do to prepare your child for school, including:

  1. Take your child to visit the school prior to his or her first day.

  2. Talking often about school and what a positive experience it will be.

  3. Not letting your child see any apprehension you might be feeling about leaving your child for what might be the first time—this will only reinforce and validate his or her feelings of distress.

  4. Emphasizing the positive aspects of your child’s day.

  5. Have your child help label and organize clothing and bedding for the first day.

Reminders for the First Day of School

Please review these reminders prior to the first day of school!

  1. Bring one change of clothing to be left at school—the clothing must be labeled and in a large Ziplock bag.

  2. Bring one crib sheet (used to cover the mat) and one blanket or flat sheet (used to cover the student). Napping materials will be sent home to be cleaned at the end of each school week and should be returned at the beginning of the following week. All napping materials should be clearly labeled and sent in a zippered nap bag.

  3. Bring a nutritious lunch consisting of food from several food groups or purchase lunch in advance directly from our lunch vendor. The school observes a "low sugar" (sugar listed as the fifth ingredient or lower) policy in the interest of the children's health and behavior.

  4. Have your child bring a special object, other than a toy, that will help him or her ease the transition from home to school. The object should not be of significant monetary or sentimental value as it can become lost, broken, or damaged and this can be distressing to the child or parents.

  5. Remember to dress your child in comfortable clothing that will not be ruined by the day’s activities. Closed-toe and low-heel shoes are required.

  6. Label all your child’s items with their name.

Additional items needed for the Toddler and Pre-Montessori Rooms:

  1. Full package of diapers.

  2. Wipes.

  3. Change of clothing with an extra pair of shoes and socks. 

  4. When potty training, please send four extra sets of panties or underwear and easy pull-up pants or shorts.
